Hey folks, a new adventure is about to begin! I have lately been toying with the idea of growing some massive tomatoes, herbs, and wheatgrass in my bedroom hydroponically! I am super pumped about the idea. So Stay tuned and I will relate to you how it goes!

Well, to everybody I know here in the Digital Universe.....

Merry Christmas!

I hope everybody is doing well wherever they are, and that this Christmas smiles upon all with good family times and presents under the tree!

As for me, I am in Yong He City, Taiwan, experiencing my first Christmas away from my home, my family, and that great Christmas day surf at Silver Strand Beach, Oxnard Ca..... Teaching English to little kids, trying to learn a new language, and eating delicious Chinese food is incredible, and there are Christmas lights hanging in my living room, but still, Christmas morning doesn't quite have the same feel over here...

But I am lucky to have already made some great friends here in Taiwan that have made me at home and made Christmas the happy holiday that it is: so to all of my Taiwanese friends, and everybody I have met here, Shei Shei! (ahh, thats thank you to everybody else..)

To all of my family and friends back home, I miss you and hope that all is well for everybody: I will see you by next Christmas!

And to all my friends around the world, I hope that wherever you are, Christmas finds you a with of joy and happiness. May all your adventures be amazing!

Hello Everybody, Zach Judd here.

You might be my friend from childhood, my girlfriend, one of my
brothers, or a friend from work.

You might be someone I met travelling in Indo, India, Southeast Asia,
Europe, Central America, Turkey, or California.

We might be fast friends, we might have only hung out for one night.
We might be long lost fast friends that only hung out for one night!

In case you don't remember me, I am from California, over 6'7" tall
(over 2 meters to my international friends), I love tye dye shirts and
Beer, and I love to travel.

If it has been a while, Nice to talk to you again!

Alright, the purpose of this email. My girlfriend Aubrey and I are
setting out on our great adventure, starting with a 3 month trip to
South America. We leave Oct. 4 from Los Angeles to Lima, Peru. To be
honest, that is about the extent of our plans so far, but we have a
tent, sleeping bags, bodyboards, fishing poles, hiking shoes, and our
party hats on, and we are planning on having an amazing time
travelling around South America!

Before leaving, I have been trying to "clean house" so to speak, both
physically at my house, spiritually, and electronically, i.e. my
email account and friends I had made over the past 6 years of travel
and collecting Email addresses.

In the process of cleaning, I gathered up all my old travel journals,
scraps of paper, and contact lists containing email addresses, wrote
them all down, and uploaded them to this, My new travelzach@gmail
email account!

If I haven't talked to you in a long while, or ever, Hello!

I would sincerely love to hear from everybody that recieves this: To
be honest I can't remember every encounter represented by every email
fragment I discovered, but I wouldn't have written it down if I didn't
like you and wish to remember you, somehow, one day.

I will be keeping all of my friends updated throughout my trip here,
from this email account. I figure that when I am feeling the writing
groove, so to speak, I might as well share that with my collective
world while I am at it. If you wish to continue recieiving these
stories, do nothing or (EVEN BETTER) email me back, let me know how
you are doing, where you are in the world, and if you are still able
to explore and wander! If for some reason you don't want to recieve
this travel adventure tale (maybe I got drunk and stepped on your
foot and it hurt really bad), please respond with a "remove" in the
subject line, And I will remove your address.

If you are wandering the world yourself, and you want to meet me for a
beer, Let me know! I would love to hear how everybody is getting on
these days!

Especially all you Aussies and Kiwis, I am coming your way next, after
the first of the year!

To my friends around Ventura, Ca. I have a very big group of
friends, and a very short list of their emails, so If you have our
friends addresses, let me have em'!

I hope that this message finds everybody healthy, happy, and doing
what they love. I would love to hear where everybody has found
themselves: I know I have met some incredible people in the past five
years of travels, and I would love to hear from you.

surrogate balinese Family, the perfect left hand reef barrel Bingin just

offshore, and the eternal good vibes, Karma, and "tidak Apa Apa" spirit of

Travel Time

Well folks, the time has come. I have my tickets! It is time to set out
into the world, learning a new language, meeting new people, and
experiencing a new world! I am heading to south America starting on october
3, and staying until december 21.

The longing I have, the itch I feel when I think about work, United States,
and my routine, will finally get scratched for 11 weeks.

Anyone want to join me?

Saving Money Time

Well folks, I am currently in the saving money phase of my trip, and I am slated to leave for south america in the beginning of October. Very Cool! My Girlfriend and I are going to take our first trip together, for two and a half months in peru, chile, argentina, and brazil. Should be a trip!

A little time off for good behavior

Well, I have been a bum lately. More importantly, I have been a surf bum, spending my free time at the beach, riding waves, and not blogging. That and working.

About work. A means to an end, but I am lucky to work at the local trader joes here in Ventura. I work with great people, eat good food, and I have managed to save up 13 grand for my upcoming trip around the world, very soon.

So I appologize for the absense of blog posts as of late, but as they say, when there are waves to catch, catch em'!

Off To Bali!

Well Folks, I am off to Bali, and I cant wait! It is 9 oclock, 30 of May, 2006. I am waiting for my ride to the airport, and then It is a 18 hour plane ride, then paradise! I am very excited, with just a tinge of that travel anxiety that settles in the pit of my stomach as I am expecting some tropical adventures. I can't wait! The Smell Of Burning Trash... by Zachary J. — transporting oneself, bali, my spiritual home | Gather: "As I sit on the computer, trying to figure out the nuances of starting some sort of revenue generating activities to fund my adventures around the world, My mind wanders....

I can almost smell the burning trash, feel the hot tropical sun beating down on my back, see the indian ocean's raw power disguised as an incoming wave, and feel the salty burn in my eyes that is sitting in the lineup at Bingin Beach, Bali. This is my home: not temporal (at least not yet) and it isn't where I recieve my mail, but it is my home nonetheless. It is my spiritual home. when last I was there, in 2002, I left a small part of my soul there; floating in the lineup, looking at the perfect left hand reef waves, and communing with the resident sea cows and local surfers. Every once in a while this soul nugget awakens, catches a beautiful wave, peers out the almond eye of that emerald dream room, or breathes a bit of Bali's omnipresent wet-burning-exotic smell (if you have been there, I am sure you can picture it with your mind's nose), and I am instantly taken back there myself. That is what happened ten minutes ago while I was sitting here at my computer, and that is how I came to write this article.

Gearing Up

Well, I had my first member of travel bums forum join last night! Other than myself and my girlfriend, I finally had someone join our forum! I was so excited- I got up, jumped up and down, and posted a email to this person immediately. It was a girl I had emailed on Myspace about a question on travelling in Thailand. I answered her question with a link to my site, and now I have one more person rocking the forum! This internet advertising thing is really quite amazing: I can tell though it is going to take some serious effort on my part to get the ball rolling, though! For anyone that picks up this blog: please join our forum! I really want this thing to take off, so for everyone I know, share your travel love!

I know that this is a little high tech for alot of my friends and family to grasp right now, but for techno-able web people and blog veterans out there, hopefully you will stumble onto this blog, subscribe to it, and help me travel the world!
